Exploring Beit Hallel

Thank you for entering my page!  Right now, you are probably searching to find out more about Jewish beliefs in Jesus.  Perhaps, you are questioning your faith, and are looking at different options. Are you in England and interested in Messianic Judaism? Curious about Messianic Jewish organizations? Beit Hallel is a messianic congregation in Coulsdon, and is looking for new members. However, you might be suprised to find out that Beit Hallel is not a Jewish organization, but a completely Christian organization! I will prove this, using information from their web-site and other Christian web-sites. Reference links will be provided so that you may see the evidence with your own eyes.

The Leader

According to the Beit Hallel, its leader is Messianic Rabbinic Intern Brian Sabey. If you look at their web-site, he tried to present himself as a Jewish leader, wearing a Tallit with a Jewish star in the background. Here is the link to the proof so that you may see it for yourself, the picture and information is at the bottom of the page under "Congregation Leaders": Click Here

So what is wrong? Well, in reality, Brian Sabey is the Associate Pastor of Coulsdon Christian Fellowship, a Baptist church! In fact, Coulsdon Christian Fellowship lists Sabey with the title Rev., short for Reverend, which designates him as a Christian religious leader. A real Jewish leader would never lead a Christian group! Here is the link to the proof, you will see Sabey listed as the Associate Pastor: Click Here

Christian Beliefs

As Beit Hallel is a run by a Baptist pastor, it is not suprising that their Statement of Faith is basically identical to the beliefs of an average Baptist church. Virgin birth, Jesus' death and resurrection...there is no real difference between the two groups. As a comparison, here is a link to the Beit Hallel beliefs and to the beliefs of the Southern Baptist Convention. You will note that they are essentially the same. The link to the Southern Baptist Convention falsely attempts to back its beliefs with Biblical verses. Unfortunately, the verses from the Jewish Bible are almost exclusively mistranslated, out of context or misrepresented. If you go to my "Great Sites, Priceless Information" section, particularly to Jews for Judaism and Messiah Truth, you can link to web-sites that easily show how their claims are wrong.

Violating the Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments are the cornerstone of Judaism. Keeping the Ten Commandments is of the utmost importance. However, Beit Hallel violates the Ten Commandments, showing that they are not really a Jewish group! How did they violate the Ten Commandments? Well, Beit Hallel has a Hebrew class for its children on Saturday after services. Holding a language class, no matter what language is being studied, even Hebrew, has always been considered work. For instance, writing is a violation of the Sabbath, so practicing writing Hebrew on the Sabbath is not allowed. This is why you do not see real Jewish synagogues offering Hebrew classes or "Saturday schools", simply put, it violates the Sabbath, which is contrary to the Ten Commandments! Here is the link to the proof that they do this: Click Here

A real Jewish group would never do this!

Christian Help

If you go back to the Beit Hallel Youth page and scroll down to the end of the event listings, you will notice on the right-hand side that the page says "backgound by In his Image." Here is the link so you can look see this on the Beit Hallel page: Click Here

So, who is In His Image? Why, In His Image is a Christian evangelical group who state:

" Our goal is to see more Christian sites on the internet. There are countless lives out there looking and hoping for someone to show them the "way". Ministries, Christian Business owners and individuals with the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ can be missionaries without ever leaving their home.

We are committed to presenting the gospel through and bring glory to our savior through web graphics and web design.

Would a real Jewish group work with In His Image? Would In His Image work with a real Jewish group? Clearly not, as In His Image is trying to make more Christian, not Jewish sites. Here is a link to the quote, which comes from the first two paragraphs of the In His Image "About" page: Click Here

Basic Error

Beit Hallel shows that they are not a Jewish group by making a basic error in their religious practice. Here is a link to the "Recent Events" page. If you look carefully at the second picture, you will see that Reverend Sabey is conducting a Passover Seder, while wearing a Tallit: Click Here

In reality, no one, not even the Seder leader, ever wears a Tallit at the Passover Seder. Would a real Jewish leader never make this mistake? Of course not! Then again, Sabley is the Associate Pastor of a Baptist church, and Beit Hallel is a Christian group, so the error is not surprising
