Exploring Kol Dodi Messianic Congregation

Thank you for entering my page!  Right now, you are probably searching to find out more about Jewish beliefs in Jesus.  Perhaps, you are questioning your faith, and are looking at different options. Are you in Tennesee and interested in Messianic Judaism? Kol Dodi is a Messianic Jewish congregation that is looking to attract Jews to their congregation. However, despite their claims that they are Jewish, they are completely a Christian organization. This may be hard for many readers to believe, but I will prove this, with each proof referenced, so you can see it with your own eyes, and no one can claim that this informations is "false."

The Leader and Congregation

Kol Dodi is an official member of the Southern Baptist Convention. Would a real Jewish group be a part of the Southern Baptist Convention? Of course not! Here is the link to the proof: Click Here

Similarly Kol Dodi is also part of the Tennessee Baptist Convention. Here is the link to the listing: Click Here

Kol Dodi is also listed on the Nashville Baptist Association web church listings. Would a real Jewish group be listed by them? Obviously not! Again, here is the link to the proof-pay special attention to the note next to their name where it says "Msn of ClearView". This informs the reader that Kol Dodi is an official mission of Clearview, another Southern Baptist Convention church: Click Here

Kol Dodi is led by Rabbi Ken Alpren. Not only is "Rabbi" Alpren not a rabbi, but he works for the Southern Baptist Convention! Alpren is a church planter for the Tennesee Baptist Convention (the state body of the Southern Baptist Convention)! Would a real Jewish leader work for a Baptist organization as a church planter? Of course not! Here are some links to proofs; the first is to an alphabetical listing of church planters, he is the second name on the list, the second is to his personal listing on the same web-site. You will see that Kol Dodi is listed as his congregation for the church planting:

If you noticed, there was a "Tim Hill" listed as the "Facilitator" of the church planting. So who is Tim Hill? Why, he is the Tennesee State Coordinator for Interfaith Evangelism of the North American Mission Board office of the Southern Baptist Convention. Here is the link to the proof (please note that the listing is in alphabetical order by state, not by name): Click Here

But let's review the biography that is listed on Kol Dodi's site, and see if it is a Jewish or a Christian biography. Though Alpren was born Jewish, he clearly left the faith. His biography states:

"Following a call to the ministry, Ken attended Bible College, ministered in New York City, led missionary teams to Israel, Cyprus, and Europe, and served as chaplain on board a mission ship in the Caribbean. After establishing a Messianic congregation in Nashville, Tennessee, he became a missionary with Chosen People Ministries in the Philadelphia area."

Led missionary teams? Served as a chaplain on a mission ship? Clearly, this man is a Christian, and not a Jewish leader. Here is the link to the quote:

As Kol Dodi is a mission branch of Clearview Baptist Church, Kol Dodi is in the Links section of the Clearview Baptist Church-have you ever seen a real synagogue in the links section of a church? Here is the link to the proof:

Their Beliefs

If you look at the Kol Dodi beliefs, they are pratically identical to standard Baptist beliefs, just using some Hebrew words to make the beliefs sound as if they are "Jewish", while still being completely Christian! Calling the "New Testament" the "New Covenant" doesn't change the fact that they are Christians. Here is a link to their beliefs, and to the beliefs of the Southern Baptist Convention. You will have a hard time finding differences in their basic beliefs, other than that the Southern Baptist Convention explains their beliefs in more details. Please note, that in both cases they attempt to use the Jewish Bible to support their beliefs. In my section "Great Sites, Priceless Information, a number of the sites address how these groups are mis-using and mis-translating the Jewish Bible:

Southern Baptist Convention

Kol Dodi

On a tangent, did you notice on the page with Kol Dodi's beliefs, that under "The Kol Dodi Messianic Congregation is Committed to Certain Objectives:" they state:

"5. To encourage the Church to partner with us in evangelizing the Jewish people.

We are ready to meet the people in churches to discuss and bring the message of the need for this biblically mandated ministry (Romans 1:16)."

Obviously, this is a Christian group looking to convert Jews, while quoting the book of Romans from the Christian Bible.

Great Sites, Priceless Information

Here are a number of great sites that counter missionaries and explain the differences in belief between Judaism and Christianity, including addressing the Biblical verses that missionaries try to use against the Jews and explaining why the missionaries are incorrect.
